On August 10, The LBI Foundation for the Arts & Sciences will host a special event Boris Blai — A Legacy in Bronze presented by Echoes of LBI Magazine and Things A Drift celebrating sculptor, educator, visionary, and founder of LBI Foundation of the Arts & Science, Dr. Boris Blai.
Speakers for the evening include: Larry Oliphant, grandson of Joe Willie Oliphant, who worked with Blai on the construction of the LBI Foundation of the Arts and Sciences; local historian Reilly Platten Sharp; and Susan Spicer-McGarry, editor and writer for Echoes of LBI Magazine. In conjunction with the event, artist Nancy Edwards will present a new art piece to the Foundation. Dr. Blai’s Pondering Chair, the oak chair he used while working in his home studio, will be on exhibition. The event marks the 75th anniversary of the LBI Foundation of the Arts & Sciences.
Admission is free. Light refreshments will be served.
