Clear, white, green, blue…rarely shiny.
Frosted look with no sharp edges.
Beer, juice and soft drinks; bottles, jars and time.
Broken junk of man becomes beautiful—
colors set in pendants or rings.
Empty whiskey bottle tossed into sea
by fisherman turns up decades later—
amber gem in sand. Time and tides
bring back broken things of man, polished
by sea and sand; made matchless. Consider
this blue gem in the ring on my wife’s hand.
